Ep 33 - How Stepping Into The Spotlight Will Propel Both You and Your Business
Episode 33
CUSTOM JAVASCRIPT / HTML
Hello and welcome to Real Estate Mastery - How To Create A Life The Doesn’t Require Your Presence. In today’s podcast, I wanted to dive into the importance of content marketing and content creation. Through my own personal experience with content creation, I can tell you that the most important thing is not to hesitate. If you’re like me, you may not want to put your self in the spotlight. But the only way to get better is to put yourself out there and to get comfortable with being uncomfortable.

You Can Start Today

I got started in the real estate industry over 20 years ago and never took the opportunities I had to promote myself or my business. I didn’t do interviews, write blogs, or do much of anything to communicate with my target audience. As such, I am sure that my fear of the spotlight was a huge detriment to my business. Not that I am unhappy with what I have achieved, but I am certain I would be further along in my career had I pursued various opportunities that were presented to me.

What I Should Have Done Sooner

About 15 years ago, I was part of a real estate group, which included someone who specialized in internet marketing Back then, he said two things that I should have listened to. He said you need to do video and you need to have a list. At the time, I thought nothing of it. Adwords was the way to go back then, bidding on keywords and placing your ads was the method people were using to get leads in the door. I was fine with that as I had no problem staying out of the spotlight and behind my desk. I didn’t create video, personal content, or a list of clients I could communicate with.

Creating Video Content

Video is probably the best way to generate content that will potentially reach a vast amount of your target audience. Video is personal and allows people to get to know you before doing business with you. The beauty of video is that it can be repurposed for a variety of platforms and you can create video content whenever and wherever you are. Your video can be transcribed into a blog, divided up for social media posts, and incorporated into email blasts.

Creating Your List

Creating a list of clients and potential clients whom you can communicate with is one of the most important things you can do when it comes to marketing your business. As Russell Brunson often says, your list is your business. If you have to continually spend money to attract to new clients and customers, it can become a very expensive way to do business. In fact, it will often put you out of business.

Your list contains past and potential clients that you are able to communicate with on a regular basis. For me, it is reaching out to people who not only hope to sell now but those who will want to sell down the road. When the times comes for them to sell their house, they will already know me, trust me, and be ready to do business with me. No matter where you are in your business today, if you aren’t building a list and communicating with them, then you are only holding yourself back.

There Are Always Opportunities To Improve

When it comes to creating content, I’m no expert, but I know that I am getting better. I think it’s important to find a way to communicate that resonates with you. For me, I like doing podcasts as I am able to share thoughts and ideas as they arise. I don’t have to get dressed up or go to a special location. I don’t have to sit down and write, I can just speak and let the ideas flow. So if you like making videos, start a Youtube channel. If you like to write, start a blog or create informative pages throughout your website. You can then repurpose your content as you never know how your client will consume your message. Your client will be able to learn about you in the format they want, not the one you think they should.

If I can be of assistance to you in any way, please reach out! I hope that you have found value in this podcast and that if you are an introvert like me, that you push yourself to get out there and create some personalized content. It will help your clients get to know you, making it easy for them to chose you when the time is right.

As always, thanks for listening!
